God Has Not Left Us Alone

Today’s reading is Hebrews 1.

We’ve learned a great deal about Jesus this week. We’ll learn a great deal more before we are done with Hebrews. However, I can’t help but be taken with the final verse of Hebrews 1.

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? (ESV)

I’m going to be 100% honest about this. I don’t really know what that verse means. Except this. We are those who inherit salvation. The author of Hebrews says the angels are ministering spirits who serve us. I don’t know what they do. I don’t know how they minister to us.

But I’m thankful. God has not left us alone. He has directed His angelic beings to work on our behalf, serving us.

Remember, there is more to this world than we can see with our eyes. There is a battle going on behind the scenes, and God’s angels are ministering on our behalf. How can we possibly lose with them working on our side.

Praise the Lord!

Next week’s reading is Hebrews 2.

  1. The Reaka’s use this podcast as our morning devotional. When the alarm goes off I roust everybody from bed and after the ridiculous door pounding bathroom stuff is done we meet on the couches and take turns reading the chapter being discussed. Johnny is learning to read using the Bible in preparation for this, that’s a big deal. After your discussion and prayer we go to our chores and work with a better attitude and maybe even something to think about. Thank you for your work, you are changing lives and equipping the next generation……Mike Reaka
