Psalm 63: Trust in the Dry Times

Today’s reading is Psalm 63.

“My soul clings to you,” David says. What a great concept. We find the same word in Ruth 1:14, when Ruth clung to Naomi. She refused to leave even when Orpah was convinced to go. David would cling to God. But why?

Because “your right hand upholds me.” David could cling not because he was so strong at clinging, but because God upheld him. This is a fantastic picture of the cooperation between God and His children. When the children cling, God upholds. Because God upholds, the children have the strength to cling.

Even in the dry times, hang on to God. Cling to Him. Though you can’t feel it, you can know God is holding on to you.

That’s trust.

Tomorrow’s reading is Psalm 63.
